I found this ad, which aired during the Super Bowl, hilarious and scary at the same time. Now before anyone jumps me, I realize this ad is actually FOR a so-called 'green' car. If that is what someone wants to buy, then great...I have no problem with that. The point is, you have a CHOICE.
What I think this ad illustrates, intentionally or not, is where we could be headed if we continue to allow government to make 'environmental' decisions for us...

Why are conservatives always against green innovation? It's part of a greater understanding of what benefits us and our planet.. I never understood why people feel the need to bash green technology and rail against it as if innovation which by the way is responsible for the internet we use, is somehow bad for us. I'm a conservative and I love green technology, it's part of the future. It's not like people won't still be able to drive those huge SUV's and hummers that are left all the time they want, this is just adding something cleaner and more efficient to the mix.
You claim to be a conservative, but you start your comment out with a question asking 'Why' Conservatives have a certain opinion? Kind of makes me doubt your conservatism right from the start....
Let me make this clear. I am absolutely NOT against 'green' innovation, as long as it is driven by the private sector and not rammed down our throats by the government. I myself drove a Prius for two years. Did I buy it because I bought the government hype about global warming and going green? Absolutely not, I bought it because I wanted to save on fuel when gas was topping $4/gallon, simple as that. It was my CHOICE, ironically something liberals love to champion when it comes to other issues...
The events of the past few months should have proved to everyone that global warming has been a hoax from the beginning. It has simply been a tool used by liberals to gain control over every aspect possible in our personal lives.
I, and I am sure MOST conservatives LOVE innovation. If there is a market for something, you can bet the private sector will develop it, which is as it should be. When the government gets involved, however, we wind up LOSING our freedom to make choices (You REALLY believe that we will still be able to drive our SUVs and Hummers if the government gets its way??), which I feel was portrayed very effectively by this ad.
